*Volunteers We Need You*
AYSO is made possible thanks to our wonderful volunteers. We are always looking for individuals with a passion to help our participants, community, and Region. Please consider donating your time and talent to our youth program.  No experience necessary!  We are seeking both coaches and board positions.  Contact any board member with questions.

Without our volunteers we cannot form teams, without teams our kids cannot play the game, consider volunteering today.

Thank you to all our Volunteers, past, present, and future!

Fall 2024 / Spring 2025:

Registration for this season is now OPEN.
Please note that many of our divisions are currenlty full. This has a lot to do with the lack of volunteers to help our kids. Please contineu to register your childern even if the system is indicating a waitlist.

Registration costs**: Division price $50, National Player Fee (NPF) $25 (nonrefundable), and an additional cost if a uniform is needed ($45).
**Registration costs are subject to change without notice.

The registrations are age based and are done according to the players birth year. Some general information on birth year and divisions can be found on the AYSO "MY" Calendar. The Fall 2023/Spring 2024 is the MY2023 column on the linked file.

AYSO Age Guide

AYSO uses an age based registration* system. Here are some frequently asked questions regarding divisions and age based registration.
*information below is based on our 2023/2024 registration season.

How do you determine age?

AYSO uses "birth year" registration. Under birth year registration a players division is determined solely on that players date of birth. For example all players born in 2012 will be in the same age group, regardless of whether they were barn in January, 2012 or December, 2012, and also regardless of what grade they are in school. This birth year registration complies with the guidelines of U.S. Soccer, the governing body of soccer in the United States.

How does this affect my child and what division will he/she be in?

Because we have a Fall and Spring season (some regions only have one season) and those seasons run from July 2023 (formation of teams) to June 2024 (last games of Spring season), determining which division your child will be in can be tricky. When figuring out which division your player will be in we look at their age on the last day of the calendar year (12/31/XX). As an example, a player who turns 6 before 12/31/2023 would be in our 8U division. Whereas a player who turns 6 on 1/1/2024 would be in our 6U division. Below is a general breakdown of the Birth Year Divisions to help answer the above question.

A quick way to know what division your child will be in is to take the year in which the program ends and subtrack their birth year. For example, I have a child born in 2017 and the MY24 (Fall 2024 & Spring 2025) season ends in 2025. My child would be 7 still on 12/31/2024 and turn 8 in 2025, resulting in them being in 8U. 20252017 = 8 or 8U

*19U Division is only played in the Fall through the Cedar Rapids Region. Specific details can be found on their webpage found here: 19u---ages-14-18

What if my child's birth year now places him/her with children who are mostly in a higher grade, can we move him/her down?

No, as a rule, AYSO does not allow move-downs to a division below a player's age group.

Division Details

6U - Coed Division
This is our regions youngest age group. These youngsters play a modified version of small-sided soccer. They will have practices and games on the same day, splitting their 1-hour sessions in half with practice for the first half and a 4v4 (no goalies) game for the second half. They will have a Fall Season and a Spring Season. Those seasons typically run the month of September for the Fall (current 2022) and the month of June for the Spring (current 2023).

8U - Coed Division
One of our larger age groups in Center Point. This group plays a small-sided version of the game, playing 4v4 (no goalies). They focus on expanding their skill base and rules of the game from our 6U program. Games are 40 minutes, divided into four 10-minute periods. Practices and practice times are made by the volunteer coach, and we recommend at least one practice a week during the season. They will have a 2022 Fall Season and a 2023 Spring Season. Those seasons typically run from mid-August through September for the Fall and from mid-May through June.

10U - Boys/Girls Divisions
This division continues to play a small-sided version of the full game and is the first age division to add goalies. They play 7v7, 6 field players and a goalie. They continue to build on their skills with added complexity, a larger field, throw-ins, and a build-out line. They play a 50-minute game, broken out into roughly 12 1/2-minute periods. Their seasons are played with the Cedar Rapids Region 1112 at Tuma Sports Complex, and they have both a Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 season. The Fall season runs from mid-August through October and sometimes into the first weekend of November, while the Spring season runs from mid-March through May.

12U – Boys/Girls Divisions
This division still continues to play a small-sided version of the full game. They play 9v9, 8 field players and a goalie. They continue to build on their skills with even greater complexity, a larger field, and throw-ins. They play a 60-minute game, broken out into roughly 15-minute periods.

14U – Boys/Girls Divisions
We now play the full version of the game, playing 11v11 with 10 field players and a goalie. They continue to build on their skills with even greater complexity and a full-size field. They play a 70-minute game, broken out into two 35-minute halves with substitution breaks roughly 17 1/2-minute through each half.

15U-Coed Division
Playing the full version of the game, they play 11v11 with 10 field players and a goalie. They continue to build on their skills with even greater complexity and a full-size field. They play an 80-minute game, broken out into two 40-minute halves with substitution breaks roughly 20-minutes through each half.

19U-Coed Division
Currently this division is setup to help us gage interest at the older level. They play the full version of the game in the 11v11 format with 10 field players and a goalie. They continue to build on their skills with even greater complexity and a full-size field. They play an 90-minute game, broken out into two 45-minute halves. Their season is played with the Cedar Rapids Region 1112 at Tuma Sports Complex, and they ONLY have a Fall season. The Fall season runs from September through October and sometimes into the first weekend of November. The games are played as jamboree style; players come to the game and teams are made at that time.
